Floral Daze

My mom always says that I have "grandma style" which I'm fine with if it means that I can live in over-sized floral dresses forever. I spotted this gem on sale at Urban Outfitters & my inner 80 year old simply couldn't resist. Also, it isn't black, so I think I need a round of applause or something for finally experimenting with color.

Anyways, it's Monday again & it's hard to believe that I've been in New York for over a month now. Where has the time gone? I'm hitting the point where I'm starting to realize that at the end of the summer I'm going to have to find a real job & become a real person who does real things for compensation. I've been playing around with my resume & I'm finally starting to search for full-time positions. Scary, I know.

This week should be pretty cool though. I have Friday off for 4th of July so I decided that I would do something a little spontaneous this weekend. I mean, it's my last summer of being a free person with little to no attachment to real-life responsibilities so I booked a little weekend trip to Chicago because why not? I haven't been since like 2008 so it should be interesting to check out as an adult. Kind of nervous to go through with such a half-baked idea since I'm the queen of having a plan but that's the fun of it all, right?

Love,
A

Say Yes More Than No

I feel like positivity is everything. It's tiring to be around negative people & I genuinely feel like if you put good vibes out into the world that good things tend to happen.

I'm feeling awfully adventurous this summer. While I'm a generally outgoing person, I feel like it's very tempting for me to take the backseat on things sometimes. I want to start saying yes more than no more often. I mean, if someone asks me to kill someone then of course the answer will have to be no, but you get the point. Sometimes it's necessary to take risks & have adventures, especially while we're young. Feel comfortable with feeling uncomfortable. I think it's something that we're all going to have to deal with for the rest of time, so we might as well embrace it.

Love,
A

3.0

When I first started Stellar Piece back in September of 2012, I had just transferred to USF & I was a single gal simply looking for a hobby. It grew into much more when I got into a relationship, it became a shared hobby & a scrapbook of all the memories that I wanted to save. Now it's just me again & I want to continue documenting the trials and tribulations that come along with being 21 & trying to find yourself in this crazy world.

As tempting as it's been to wallow lately, I decided that I'm just going to stay busy & continue living my life to the fullest instead. Stellar Piece has been a huge part of my life for a while now & I am not about to just let that go. Since I recently got my very own Nikon, I decided that it would be silly to not continue documenting all of my adventures here, especially because I have so many exciting events coming up in my life. I'm graduating from college in May (holy crap), moving to NYC for the summer while I intern with CollegeFashionista (what? insane) & along the way I'll be trying to figure out what I want to do for the rest of my life (let's not talk about that right now). All I know is that the future is bright and I want to keep writing, taking photos & sharing all of my ups and downs right here.

So for all of you who want to stick around with me & SP, we'd love to have you.

Love,
A

New Beginnings Deux

Hey Stellar Piece Readers,

I'm sure you have noticed that I've taken quite the leave of absence since my last post in November. Unfortunately, a hectic school schedule & full-time blogging don't really go hand-in-hand but I'm pleased to say that Stellar Piece is back & equipped with a brand new addition, Jake Pflum. Jake & I have been together for about 9 months now & since we spend mostly all of our time together, we figured that it would be a smooth move to make Stellar Piece a joint venture. We both have a passion for writing, eating, watching films, shopping, taking photographs & drinking wildly over-priced tea and coffee. Inspired by Naomi & Josh Davis of Love Taza, this blog will feature a little bit of everything & will give readers an insight into all of the fun that Jake & I experience as a couple.

I hope that you will all enjoy the new changes at Stellar Piece. Thanks for reading!

Love,

A
