The End Pt. 2

August seems to be jam-packed with an awful lot of "the ends". It's the end of summer, my time at Marie Claire & CollegeFashionista, living in Tampa and being 21. It's a very surreal & bittersweet time in my life but I cannot wait for what's to come.

I finally feel like things are starting to fall into place, though. I'm going back home for a few days, I found an apartment in Brooklyn, I'm getting called back for interviews & everyone is shockingly supportive of my decision to completely uproot my existence in Tampa to create a new life for myself in NYC. It feels good to be backed by all the people that I care most about but it feels even better to just trust myself for a second & realize that as long as I work hard, everything is going to be just fine.

But seriously, let's forget about New York for a second & talk about how excited I am to be going back to TAMPA BAY. There are so many things that I've been missing for the past 3 months. Namely: Pei Wei, Target, MOM, PDQ, the Thai Temple, driving, Bentley, International Mall, Gabbie Amontree, oh and ya know, the rest of my brilliant family. I'm going to be home from the 9th-14th & my 22nd birthday happens to fall perfectly in the middle on the 12th. So, GET AT ME. Let's hang out, grab a drink & be all nostalgic.

Here's to the start of something new.

Love,
A

CollegeFashionista x Beats by Dre

Last week, CollegeFashionista was cool enough to ask Anna, Katie & I to take some photos for a collab that they are doing with Beats by Dre. I personally never thought that I was cool enough to ever wear a pair of Beats but when CF gave us all our pair, I couldn't resist. Now I've been wearing them everywhere & I can't get enough of them. Here's a few of my favorite shots from the shoot which ended up reminding me of a modern day Clueless & I felt like Iggy Azalea's "Fancy" should have been playing the entire time.

Speaking of soundtracks, we were also asked to curate a little list of our 5 favorite songs of the summer for the article but I added a playlist below with a few more songs that I can't get enough of lately ft. The Orwells, The Ramones, TLC, Devo, Mac Demarco, Made Violent + more.

Love,
A

Black & Blue

So, I'm finally getting the hang of this whole NYC thing. I've finally established a little routine. I can kind of get around without being glued to some kind of app that tells me every single turn to make. I've ventured to Brooklyn & back a few times. I've officially been to some shows, including The Orwell's who I caught at two different venues last night. I really don't think I'll ever tire of them. I've gotten into some interesting situations. I'm seriously loving every second in this city. There's never a dull moment.

I've been doing everything that I set out to do here & it's honestly an amazing feeling. I love all of the people that I've met so far. I love my internships. I love where I'm living. The only thing I don't love is when I get caught in the rain without an umbrella & I'm carrying a million things. But honestly, the weather has been gorgeous for the most part. The other day, my new friend & fellow CollegeFashionista intern, Kali, took some photos of me on her fancy nancy camera. I've been living in rompers & sandals this summer. Also, lately, my color of choice for the summer has been black. Let me tell you, black clothes + sun + concrete = gross sweaty mess. I desperately need some color up in here.

Love,
A

Puppy Party

I'm only a couple days into spring break & I can honestly say that this has been the nicest week ever so far. I've been enjoying the gorgeous weather, getting school stuff squared away, researching more plans for New York, making playlists & catching up with friends. Who knew that this "alone time" that everyone is always talking about could actually be fun?

The other day, CollegeFashionista sent out an email about a feature highlighting Style Gurus & their pets. My fellow Head Style Guru and blogger pal, Olivia Muenter of Wanderlust & Such has been in town for spring break. So, she grabbed her puppy Ray, I brought Bentley & we had a pretty cute puppy photo shoot in Westchase. Bentley is always having his photo taken so he was pretty into it (except in the last one, not sure what's going on there, B). But for being a beginner, Ray was a natural. I mean honestly though, look at the two of them. Have you ever seen a more handsome pair?

It's so nice to just be able to relax, visit with Olivia & chat about things we love: blogging, fashion & of course, our pups.

Love,
A
